## Greenville County Appoints New Elections Director

Greenville County will have a new director overseeing elections. The Greenville County Voter Registration and Election Board has selected its next director. On September 24, the county’s election board announced that members unanimously voted to approve Patty Roach as its new director.

Patty Roach has been interim director since Conway Belangia left to lead the South Carolina State Election Commission. Roach is a native of the Upstate and graduated from North Greenville University. She has had an 18-year career with the Greenville County elections office.

Board Chairman Jerry Barron stated that Roach is an exceptional leader who is well prepared for the responsibilities of the position. During her time as Interim Director, Roach led the office through seven elections in six months.
