Exciting New Flights and Facilities Coming to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport!

Greenville, we have some fantastic news that’s set to take off in 2024! The Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) is buzzing with energy as new low-cost flights and various airport developments are on the horizon. This means travelers can look forward to more adventure options while enjoying an enhanced airport experience.

Budget-Friendly Nonstop Flights

First up, Allegiant Air is kicking things off by launching nonstop flights to the beautiful city of Sarasota, Florida! Starting on February 13, you can hop on a flight for less than $50. Sarasota, situated on Florida’s west coast, is a dream destination for beach lovers, just an hour away from Tampa and a delightful little drive to Disney World, making it perfect for family getaways.

But that’s not all! Breeze Airways is getting ready to resume its seasonal route to Orlando International Airport (MCO) in March. Tickets will also hover around the $50 mark, allowing you to spend more on those famous park entry fees or relaxing at the beach.

Year-Round and Seasonal Flight Options

Breeze does not stop there! Their routes from GSP to Providence, R.I., and Tampa, FL, are available year-round, with exciting seasonal plans for flights to Los Angeles (LAX) and Hartford (BDL) scheduled to kick off in May. Now that’s what we call a ticket to travel happiness!

Southwest Airlines, a veteran at GSP since 2011, continues to offer flights to hot spots like New York, Los Angeles, and the Caribbean. And here’s some cherry on top—by 2025, they will bring us daily nonstop flights to Houston Hobby (HOU)! Previously available only on weekends, this will make spontaneous trips to the Lone Star State much easier.

GSP is Bustling with Activity

As the airport sees more travel action, GSP’s communications manager, Tiffany Cherry, emphasizes the importance of enhancing passenger experience through exciting new projects. Get ready for some tasty treats because a brand-new restaurant is set to open in the airport’s Grand Hall!

Families will also be thrilled with the addition of a new children’s play area to keep the little ones entertained while waiting for their flights. The ongoing construction of a new parking garage and rental car facility is also expected to wrap up early this year, making travel logistics smoother than ever.

Expansion and Renovation Projects

But wait, there’s more! Keep an eye out for the renovation and expansion of GSP’s Cerulean General Aviation terminal, also set to finish this year. Plus, passengers can look forward to using two new boarding bridges, which will help streamline boarding and loading processes.

More Destinations Than Ever

With all these new developments, GSP is on track for increased passenger traffic, projecting over 3 million passengers will pass through its gates by 2025—up from 2.9 million in 2024. That’s a whole lot of travel buzz!

In a huge positive turn, United Airlines has resumed daily nonstop flights from GSP to Washington-Dulles International Airport. After a two-year break, travelers can enjoy three daily flights again, ensuring that GSP will reach the significant milestone of offering nonstop service to 27 destinations, the highest in its history!

Your Travel Adventures Await!

With affordable flight options and an airport that’s investing in a better experience for its passengers, it’s safe to say that GSP is on the up and up. Whether it’s for a beach getaway to Florida or a family trip to the theme parks, travel enthusiasts in Greenville can look forward to making new memories with ease in the upcoming years.
