OneSpartanburg Inc., the county’s combined chamber and economic development organization, has opened a community input process for its next five-year strategic vision plan, seeking public feedback on workforce priorities, small business support, infrastructure needs, and quality of life goals.

The effort marks the start of a new planning cycle for the organization, which consolidated three Hub City nonprofits — the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Spartanburg Regional Alliance, and OneSpartanburg — into a single unified entity. Since its formation, the organization has launched a $10 million small-business loan fund, the PowerUp Spartanburg minority business development program, the Re:Degree adult learner initiative, and SpartanBucks, a local spending incentive program for small businesses.

The current five-year vision plan has guided work across economic development, talent attraction, business resources, and community leadership pipelines, including Leadership Spartanburg, now in its 45th class, and the Spartanburg Young Professionals network. An annual MOMENTUM celebration each year recognizes businesses and community leaders whose work reflects the plan’s goals.

Residents, business owners, and community stakeholders can submit input through the organization’s website at onespartanburginc.com. The input will inform the priorities and focus areas of the next strategic plan, which is expected to carry the organization’s agenda through the early 2030s.

No specific deadline for the comment period has been announced. The organization has not indicated a timeline for when a draft plan will be presented to members or the public. Input submitted during this phase will be reviewed by planning staff and leadership before any draft is released for review.

OneSpartanburg has grown its economic development footprint considerably in recent years, with the county attracting significant industrial investment alongside the contentious Project Spero data center proposal that drew large public meetings earlier this year.
