Spartanburg Celebrates Furry Friends and Furry Fundraisers!
It’s a paws-itively exciting time in Spartanburg! This Friday is all about celebrating our furry companions with a special focus on adoption and awareness. The Spartanburg Humane Society is featuring a delightful 3-month-old pup named Grace who’s looking for her forever home. Grace is all about cuddles and playtime, and this little lady just can’t wait to find a family who will cherish her!
Meet Foxy: An Incredible Companion in Search of Love
Speaking of fantastic dogs, let’s talk about Foxy. This affectionate and energetic 6-year-old mixed breed has had quite the journey. Foxy has been living at the shelter since October 2020, after being surrendered due to a family illness. Since then, she has been adopted multiple times but has sadly been returned each time because her energy level is just too high for some families.
Weighing in at 45 pounds, Foxy is full of love and life! The shelter has made it clear that this charming gal needs a very specific home environment; ideally, she would thrive best in a home without any children or other pets. She’s the kind of dog who adores going on long walks and delights in giving gentle hugs and soft kisses. As of February 25, Foxy is still waiting for someone special to give her a place to call home. You can find more details on her status on the shelter’s website. Isn’t it time we gave Foxy the loving home she deserves?
Spay/Neuter Awareness Fundraiser – A Great Opportunity to Help
If you want to do something meaningful for animals in your community, here’s an exciting opportunity! Throughout February, the Spartanburg Humane Society has teamed up with Mon Amie Morning Café for a spay/neuter awareness fundraiser. This collaboration is all about raising money and increasing awareness during Spay/Neuter Awareness Month.
When you visit Mon Amie Morning Café, you will have the chance to contribute to the Guardian Angel Fund. The café is even matching every dollar donated, which means every little bit you give goes twice as far! This is the second year that the café has joined forces with the humane society, and they have made it extra special by donating part of their proceeds from a delicious crepe dish named after a lucky adopted animal from last year.
Support for Furry Friends – Making a Big Difference
The CEO of the Spartanburg Humane Society emphasizes how critical these donations are. With their commitment to spaying and neutering eight animals daily, along with microchipping and vaccinations for every animal that arrives, fundraising efforts like this have a real impact. It’s all about nurturing relationships with donors to continue providing the best care possible for our furry friends.
Nita Biven, co-owner of Mon Amie Morning Café, echoes this sentiment. She believes in the importance of matching animals to forever homes and fostering care for pets in need. At the café, you can also check out wonderful artwork featuring pets available for adoption, which adds an extra layer of awareness to the cause.
Join the Fun – Make a Difference!
So whether you’re considering adding a new furry friend to your family or simply want to help support a great cause, now is the perfect time to get involved. There is a lovely dog named Grace waiting for you at the Spartanburg Humane Society, and Foxy is hoping that someone will recognize her as the perfect match for their home. Plus, don’t miss out on the chance to support spaying and neutering by visiting Mon Amie Morning Café this February.
Let’s come together as a community to show some love for these amazing animals and help them find their happily ever after!
