A 54-year-old man is being held without bond at the Spartanburg County Detention Facility following an April 23 arrest in which deputies recovered a missing juvenile and determined the teen had been coerced, drugged, and sexually assaulted.

According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were contacted that evening after a juvenile had left their residence. Family members tracked down a vehicle they believed the teenager was traveling in and passed that information to law enforcement. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and recovered the juvenile safely before transporting the teen to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation.

The suspect, identified as Robert Eugene Hall of Spartanburg County, was arrested at the scene. As the investigation progressed, the Sheriff’s Office determined that Hall had allegedly used electronic communication to persuade the juvenile to leave home, and that he had subsequently drugged and sexually assaulted the teenager.

The Special Victims Unit took over the investigation following the initial stop. Hall now faces a lengthy list of charges, including kidnapping, criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the second degree on three counts, criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the third degree on three counts, contributing to the delinquency of a minor on two counts, cruelty to children, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine in the presence of a minor, and unlawful exposure to the HIV virus.

Hall remained in the Spartanburg County Detention Facility without bond as of the date of this report. No bond was set given the severity of the charges and the nature of the alleged conduct.

Investigators with the Special Victims Unit indicated they have concerns that there may be additional victims connected to Hall. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim, or anyone with relevant information about Hall, to contact Investigator T. Hill directly at (864) 503-4579 or by email at thill@spartanburgcounty.gov.

The case remains an active investigation. No additional arrests had been announced as of May 1, 2026.
