Music on Main Returns to Morgan Square Every Thursday Through August — Season Underway

Spartanburg’s popular Music on Main series has returned to Morgan Square for its 2026 season, running every Thursday evening from April through August at 100 West Main Street in downtown Spartanburg.

The free outdoor concert series takes place on Thursdays with performances typically running from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Music on Main is one of downtown Spartanburg’s most-attended recurring events and draws residents from across the county each week for live music, food vendors, and the informal community gathering that has made Morgan Square a central gathering place.

The event is free and open to the public. Morgan Square sits in the heart of downtown Spartanburg, accessible by foot from nearby parking decks and surrounded by restaurants and shops that see elevated foot traffic on Music on Main evenings.

This year’s series runs through August, giving Spartanburg residents weekly outdoor music events across the spring and summer months. The programming has historically featured a rotating lineup of local and regional artists across multiple genres.

Music on Main is organized by the City of Spartanburg and has been a cornerstone of downtown’s revitalization over the past decade. The event continues to serve as a gathering point for Converse Heights, Hampton Heights, the Northside, and other surrounding neighborhoods whose residents make the short walk or drive to Morgan Square each Thursday.

The series comes at a high-traffic time for downtown Spartanburg events, with the Spartanburg Philharmonic’s season-ending concerts, the Stone Soup Storytelling Festival in Woodruff, and a number of other spring events scheduled through April and May. The Regus co-working space opening later in 2026 at 500 West Main Street is expected to add additional daytime foot traffic to the corridor.

Upcoming Thursday Music on Main dates include April 16, April 23, and April 30. No tickets or registration are required.
