Hub City Spartanburgers fans who cannot make it to Fifth Third Park will have 15 chances to watch their team on television this season. CW62 announced it will air 15 Spartanburgers games throughout the 2026 Minor League Baseball campaign, with 7NEWS Sports Director Pete Yanity handling play-by-play duties on all broadcasts.
The broadcast partnership kicks off Sunday, April 12, when the Spartanburgers host Upstate rival Greenville Drive at Fifth Third Park. The schedule spans the full season, wrapping with the final regular-season game on September 6 against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws — a game that also serves as the Spartanburgers’ 2026 home finale.
The Hub City Spartanburgers are in their second season as the High-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, playing in Spartanburg’s revitalized Fifth Third Park in the heart of the city’s downtown core. The team draws from the Rangers’ top prospect pipeline, giving Spartanburg fans early access to players who may reach Arlington within a year or two.
The full CW62 broadcast schedule includes matchups against Winston-Salem, Wilmington Blue Rocks, the Asheville Tourists, Bowling Green Hot Rods, the Greensboro Grasshoppers, and the Rome Emperors in addition to the Drive and BlueClaws games. Sunday afternoon games make up a majority of the slate, with several Friday night games also included. The full season schedule runs through September 6.
Minor League Baseball broadcasts have become an increasingly important promotional tool for High-A franchises looking to build regional audiences beyond their home markets. For the Spartanburgers, who joined the Carolina League in 2024 as part of Major League Baseball’s restructured affiliate system, the television deal extends the team’s reach into Upstate households and builds familiarity with the franchise at a critical early stage. The Rangers’ organizational investment in the Spartanburg market includes upgraded facilities, enhanced scouting pipelines, and efforts to grow attendance at Fifth Third Park — and local television is a key piece of that strategy.
