A 63-year-old man is facing a second-degree felony charge of sexual assault of a child after his arrest in New Caney, Texas, in court records and an official news release.
On April 21, 2026, at approximately 4:45 p.m., East Patrol deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in the 21400 block of Dallas Street near Liberty Street. Deputies found an active disturbance involving 63-year-old Miguel Navarrete and the homeowner. The homeowner had returned from work early, noticed an unfamiliar vehicle in the driveway, and found Navarrete inside his teenage daughter’s bedroom.
Deputies detained Navarrete and contacted detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit. The investigation determined that Navarrete had met the juvenile victim at a church in Houston and traveled to her home intending to engage in a sexual relationship with her. He was booked at the Montgomery County Jail on the charge of Sexual Assault of a Child, a second-degree felony under Texas law.
