Prisma Health Acquires 36 Urgent Care Facilities

Prisma Health Expands Statewide Services with Urgent Care Acquisition

Prisma Health, the largest healthcare system in the state, is set to acquire 36 urgent care facilities from Novant Health. The deal, expected to finalize on November 1, involves locations that were formerly Doctor’s Care centers.

This transition is anticipated to affect approximately 500 medical staff. Prisma Health leaders expect most of these facilities to remain in their current locations, though some may be relocated.

Dr. Jonathan Gleason, executive vice president and chief clinical officer for Prisma Health, indicated that the addition of these clinics will broaden access to Prisma Health’s services throughout South Carolina. Prisma Health, based out of Greenville, serves over 1.6 million people across South Carolina and Tennessee.
