Spartanburg County, South Carolina – Multiple arrests have been made in Spartanburg County in connection with child sex crimes, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office. The arrests come after a series of investigations targeting individuals involved in the exploitation of minors.

On Monday, authorities arrested Johnathan David Fowler, 40, who was previously wanted for multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Fowler is believed to have frequently visited the east side of Spartanburg County. His capture followed a call for assistance from the community to locate him.

In a separate case, Theron Robert Littlefield, a resident of Lyman, was apprehended in Delaware by the Department of Justice’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Littlefield faces 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and is currently awaiting extradition to South Carolina. His arrest followed an investigation that led law enforcement to execute a search warrant at his home on August 22, resulting in the seizure of numerous electronic devices, three firearms, and ammunition. Notably, Littlefield was prohibited from maintaining firearms due to previous convictions.

Additionally, Dudley Paul Bishop has been arrested as part of an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation that began on August 3. Bishop faces charges of luring a child and criminal solicitation of a minor. This case was initiated after a child reported to a parent that Bishop was attempting to communicate through social media for sexual purposes. The sheriff’s office praised the child’s bravery in speaking out and encouraged parents to engage in conversations with their children about safe practices online.

Another arrest was made involving Calvin Johannes Juntunen, 31, who was charged with distributing child sexual abuse material via the Kik messaging platform. Juntunen faces 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. His investigation was prompted by reports sent to the Cybertipline managed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Following these reports, investigators executed a search warrant at his residence, where Juntunen admitted to sharing illegal material.

These cases highlight the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in Spartanburg County to crack down on child exploitation and ensure the safety of minors in the community. The sheriff’s office has emphasized the importance of public involvement in reporting suspicious activities. As these investigations continue, authorities are seeking additional information from the community regarding any similar incidents that may help in safeguarding children from exploitation.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to addressing and preventing child exploitation, urging parents to stay vigilant and maintain open lines of communication with their children about the dangers of online interactions. As these arrests unfold, the community is encouraged to remain proactive in protecting its youth.
