Palmetto Corp and Luck Stone Bring $15 Million Asphalt Plant and 50 Jobs to Enoree

April 13, 2026 at 7:05 am · HERE Spartanburg Staff

Palmetto Corp will invest $15 million to construct a state-of-the-art asphalt plant at Luck Stone’s existing Enoree quarry site in Spartanburg County, a partnership that is expected to create 50 jobs and begin operations in spring 2026. The facility will use the latest technology to convert crushed aggregate directly into asphalt at the same location, eliminating the need to transport raw material offsite. This marks Palmetto Corp’s eighth plant in South Carolina and its second to open within a two-year span — with Luck Stone’s Enoree site positioned about 21 miles south of downtown Spartanburg, one mile west of I-26.

Eric Faulk, COO of Palmetto Corp, said the co-location model allows the company to maximize efficiency using the latest asphalt production technology. Trevor McLouth, VP of South Carolina at Luck Stone, framed the deal as consistent with the company’s broader values: “This partnership reflects how we approach growth at Luck Companies: with a focus on people, community, and long-term impact.”

The Luck Stone quarry has been out there for years. Makes a lot of sense to add the asphalt plant right on site rather than trucking everything elsewhere. Smart move.

Spring 2026 startup is right around the corner. Will be interesting to see how quickly they get up to full production. Palmetto knows how to run these plants.

This is the kind of industrial investment that keeps Spartanburg County moving. Between this and everything happening up near I-85 it is a busy time for the county.

Eighth plant in SC and they keep picking Upstate sites. Good sign for the region. Hope they hire locally from Enoree and the surrounding communities.
