RBC Heritage Begins Thursday at Harbour Town — SC’s Signature PGA Tour Event Follows McIlroy’s Historic Masters Back-to-Back

One week after Rory McIlroy made history by winning back-to-back Masters titles at Augusta National, the PGA Tour moves to the South Carolina coast for the 2026 RBC Heritage, the fourth of eight signature events on the season’s schedule and one of golf’s most beloved stops.

The 2026 RBC Heritage runs Thursday through Sunday, April 16 to 19, at Harbour Town Golf Links at The Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. With a 0 million purse and .6 million going to the winner, the event draws a world-class field to the Lowcountry course Pete Dye built with Jack Nicklaus as a consulting designer.

South Carolina and the Upstate are front and center in the golf world this week. McIlroy, who completed his historic back-to-back green jacket victory at Augusta National last Sunday, finished at 12 under par to hold off Scottie Scheffler by one shot in a dramatic final round. McIlroy became only the fourth golfer in history to win consecutive Masters titles, joining Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, and Tiger Woods.

The RBC Heritage field includes world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who charged at Augusta and finished runner-up. Also in the field are defending RBC Heritage champion Justin Thomas, Cameron Young, Tommy Fleetwood — the reigning FedExCup winner — Jordan Spieth, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and Brian Harman, who has made the Harbour Town course his personal proving ground with a top-15 finish in each of the last three years.

Harbour Town Golf Links is a 7,243-yard, par-71 layout known for demanding precision over power. Narrow fairways protected by moss-draped oaks and pines, small greens surrounded by bunkers, and water hazards on every hole make it one of the most technically demanding courses on the PGA Tour. Coastal winds of 10 to 15 mph are forecast for the week, adding another layer of difficulty.

CBS Sports coverage begins on Saturday and Sunday, with Golf Channel carrying Thursday and Friday rounds from 2 to 6 p.m. Eastern.

For Spartanburg-area golf fans who can’t make the drive to Hilton Head, the tournament is close enough to feel like a home event — Harbour Town is approximately 3.5 hours southeast of Spartanburg on US-278 through Ridgeland and Bluffton.
