In a huge victory for local sports culture, Spartanburg Professional Baseball Club has introduced its brand new identity, the Hub City Spartanburgers. This took place at a community celebration on Saturday evening, which occurred in collaboration with the city of Spartanburg at the future site of Fifth Third Park. This new home for the team is scheduled to be open in the year 2025.

Preserving the Past, Celebrating the Future

The chosen name, the Hub City Spartanburgers, illuminates Spartanburg’s significant historic role as a major railroad hub between the early 1850s and 1936. This was a defining period that shaped the growth and evolution of the city. The logo and branding aims to join the past and the present, combining the city’s remarkable history with its bright prospects.

General manager of the Hub City Spartanburgers, Tyson Jeffers announced, “Hub City Spartanburgers is an indication of our heritage and an exciting new chapter in Spartanburg baseball. We’re very excited to see our community supporting this team.”

Myrtle Beach Classic: A New Chapter in PGA Tour History

The inaugural Myrtle Beach Classic, a PGA Tour event carried out under the sponsorship of Visit Myrtle Beach, was a noteworthy success with its conclusion on May 12, 2024. The tournament lasted four days and saw championship-level golf being played at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. More than 40,000 spectators turned out for the event, creating a substantial economic impact on the community.

The event’s tournament director, Darren Nelson lauded the community and the over 1,300 volunteers who made the Classic’s first-ever success a reality. He reinforced, “With the continued dedication and support from the Myrtle Beach community, the event is positioned to continue to grow and evolve, further establishing the Grand Strand as a foremost destination for golf and recreation.”
