Spartanburg High alumna Ginger Page Cherup passes at 65

Ginger Page Cherup, a graduate of Spartanburg High School, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the age of 65. Cherup, a resident of Lexington, was born on September 27, 1960, in Circleville, Ohio, and was the daughter of Andrew David Page, Jr. and Johnsie Harrelson Page of Spartanburg.

Cherup earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Clemson University. She dedicated over two decades to her career as an accountant for the City of Columbia and was a member of Mt. Horeb Global Methodist Church.

She had a passion for travel and enjoyed spending time with her friends. In recent years, she found joy in relaxing at the beach or in the mountains with her husband. A devoted fan of the Clemson Tigers, she made sure to watch their games whenever possible. Cherup cherished her role as a Gigi to her two grandsons, Austin Griffin and Grayson French, and looked forward to watching them grow. She was known for her loving, loyal, kind, and approachable nature, and frequently visited her parents in Spartanburg, valuing time spent with family and close friends.

Cherup is survived by her husband, Monty Cherup; her parents, Andrew David Page, Jr. and Johnsie Harrelson Page; stepdaughters Kathryn Griffin (Chase) of Greenville and Sarah French (Dylan) of Spartanburg; stepson David Cherup (Sloane) of Columbia; and nephew Drew Page of Tryon, North Carolina. She is also survived by numerous aunts, an uncle, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Page III.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, located at 2075 East Main Street in Spartanburg. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 1:00 PM at the chapel, led by the Reverend Stephen Fitch and the Reverend Kristy Wilson. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Horeb Church, 1205 Old Cherokee Road, Lexington, SC 29072, or to Spartanburg Global Methodist Church, 1650 Skylyn Drive, #100, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
