The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Eduardo Hernandez Uribe, 25, of Hickory, N.C., who died at the hospital, and Jose Antonio Uribe, 29, of Spartanburg, who lived at the complex and was Eduardo’s uncle.

Bryan Alexis Ayala of Anderson faces two counts of murder and two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was denied bond Monday. Prosecutors said at a bond hearing that Ayala walked out of an apartment building with an AR-style rifle, pointed it at a group of men and opened fire when they tried to take the rifle from him.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Spartanburg Police Department. Investigators said the case remains active.
