Spartanburg, S.C. — Spartanburg High fell 31-7 to Fort Mill on Friday night in Week 8 of the SCHSL football season, one of several local results posted on statewide scoreboards.

Broome was blanked 40-6 by Blue Ridge, and Mountain View Prep rolled past Landrum 53-7, according to the same Week 8 finals that carried the Spartanburg result.

Chesnee improved to 5-2 with a 36-20 win over Clinton, a result that also appeared across independent Upstate score pages Friday night and Saturday morning.

In other nearby games, Chapman edged Christ Church 23-21 and Byrnes beat Mauldin 42-21, keeping several Spartanburg County programs in the Week 8 conversation.

Spartanburg Day was listed with a forfeit loss to Orangeburg Prep in private-school results, while public-school boards focused on the Vikings’ loss to Fort Mill.

Teams across the county will turn quickly to next week’s region slate as the regular season enters its final stretch.
