The Hub City Spartanburgers will play host to the Greenville Drive at Fifth Third Park in downtown Spartanburg for three games starting Friday night, May 1, as the second half of a six-game interleague series returns to the Hub City after the Spartanburgers dropped both games played on the road.
Hub City enters the home portion of the series at 9-13 on the season, having lost the first two games at Fluor Field in Greenville. In Tuesday’s opener, a seven-run eighth inning by the Drive — powered by four home runs in a single frame, capped by a grand slam from Freili Encarnacion — turned a 5-6 Hub City lead into a 12-6 final. Arturo Disla went 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, two runs, and two walks for the Spartanburgers, while Luke Hanson added two doubles and two RBI. In Wednesday’s game two, Hub City fell in extra innings despite Luke Hanson’s first professional home run in the top of the ninth extending the game to 10 innings, as the two teams combined for six home runs across the night.
The Spartanburgers return to Fifth Third Park at 503 S. Church St. in Spartanburg for first pitches scheduled at 6:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with Sunday’s series finale set for 3:05 p.m. All three home games are included in the 15 Hub City games that CW62 has scheduled to air live throughout the 2026 season, giving local fans a broadcast option alongside in-person attendance.
Hub City’s home fan experience this spring has also included the Sparkle Week charitable series, with the organization partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg, the Soup Kitchen of Spartanburg, and three other Upstate nonprofits for community service projects May 5-10 centered around home stands and outreach events. The Texas Rangers High-A affiliate has leaned into its role as a community institution in Spartanburg while fielding a young roster that includes several Rangers prospects working their way through the developmental pipeline.
Tickets are available through the Fifth Third Park box office or at HubCitySpartanburgers.com. The Spartanburgers are the Texas Rangers’ High-A affiliate and operate out of Fifth Third Park at the corner of South Church and Magnolia streets in downtown Spartanburg.
