Wofford College baseball heads to Fluor Field in Greenville for the Southern Conference Baseball Championship beginning May 20, closing its 2026 regular season as one of the SoCon’s leading programs after a 32-win campaign that included a home sweep series over East Tennessee State University at Russell C. King Field in Spartanburg.
The Terriers, who play their home games at Russell C. King Field in Spartanburg, completed the ETSU series May 8-10 with a 2-1 split. Wofford won the first two games by scores of 7-6 and 6-5 before dropping the Sunday finale 9-5 to end the home portion of their regular season. The Terriers then travel to Samford in Birmingham, Alabama for a three-game series May 14-16 before returning to South Carolina for the SoCon Championship at Fluor Field.
The Southern Conference Championship is scheduled for May 20-23 at Fluor Field in Greenville — roughly 30 miles from Wofford’s campus in Spartanburg. The championship game is set for Saturday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m. The SoCon tournament format brings together the conference’s top finishers for a bracketed postseason event that determines the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Regional.
Wofford has built one of the stronger programs in the Southern Conference in recent seasons. A 32-17 record entering the final week of the regular season places the Terriers among the SoCon’s top teams by wins and conference percentage. Earlier in the spring, Wofford clinched conference series in three consecutive weekends, including a 6-5 win over The Citadel on April 11 that secured a series victory at King Field. Ace right-hander Alec Bouchard carried a 9-2 record into late May, while closer Champ Davis logged multiple saves in tight late-season contests.
The proximity of Fluor Field to the Spartanburg area makes the SoCon Championship accessible for Wofford fans who want to follow the Terriers into postseason play. Fluor Field, the home of the Greenville Drive minor league baseball club, seats approximately 7,500 spectators and provides a professional-caliber setting for the conference championship.
