SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The USC Upstate baseball team in Spartanburg will open its 2027 season against a run of Power Four teams, according to the schedule coach Kane Sweeney released this week.
The slate lists 56 regular-season games. Twenty-six are at home, three are at professional ballparks and 24 are Big South Conference games.
The season starts Feb. 19 with three games at Florida State in Tallahassee. Upstate then meets South Carolina on Feb. 23 at Fluor Field in Greenville and opens at home the next day against Cincinnati. Clemson, Georgia, West Virginia and North Carolina also appear on the list.
Spartanburg fans get an early tournament, too. The OneSpartanburg Inc. Classic runs Feb. 26-28, with Upstate hosting Maine. Indiana, Austin Peay, Wofford and UNCW are also slated to play in Spartanburg that weekend, according to the Seahawks schedule.
West Virginia visits for two midweek games, the first at Fifth Third Park on March 9 and the second at Harley Park on March 10.
Big South play opens March 19 when Presbyterian comes to Spartanburg for three games. UNCW returns for a three-game series at Upstate from April 30 to May 2.
