Spartanburg County narcotics investigators seized approximately 2,958 grams — roughly six and a half pounds — of cocaine from a residence on Kendrick Street in Greer on April 29, 2026, arresting a 35-year-old man on trafficking and weapons charges in one of the largest single-site cocaine seizures the agency has publicly documented in recent years.
Narcotics unit deputies executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Kendrick Street and detained Brandon Terrill Dodd, 35, upon entry. In addition to the cocaine, investigators found 6.5 grams of crack cocaine, a Glock 17 9mm handgun, and $11,373 in cash. Dodd was transported to the county jail following his arrest.
Dodd faces four charges: trafficking cocaine — which under South Carolina law applies to any seizure exceeding 100 grams and carries mandatory minimum sentences ranging from 25 years to life for the quantity recovered — possession with intent to distribute, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. County narcotics officials did not identify additional suspects in the initial public disclosure, though the investigation was noted as ongoing.
The 2,958-gram seizure falls in the highest trafficking tier under South Carolina law, which sets a mandatory minimum of 25 years without the possibility of parole for cocaine trafficking involving more than 400 grams. A conviction under the firearm possession charge would run consecutively under state sentencing guidelines, prosecutors have noted in similar Upstate cases.
Greer, which straddles the Spartanburg and Greenville county lines and has grown substantially alongside the BMW Manufacturing plant and its supplier network along the Interstate 85 corridor, has been the focus of expanded narcotics enforcement over the past two years. Deputies from the narcotics unit have executed more than a dozen warrants in Greer ZIP codes since January 2025, according to agency news releases, resulting in seizures of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine at distribution-level quantities.
Dodd remained in custody as of April 30, according to jail records. A bond hearing had not been publicly scheduled as of that date. Anyone with information about drug activity in Spartanburg County is encouraged to contact the narcotics tip line at 864-596-2965.
