SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Camila Moscoso found the net three times on Senior Day as the Spartanburg Methodist College women’s soccer team shut out visiting Bryan College 5-0 Saturday afternoon at Nash Soccer Field in Spartanburg.
Fellow senior Addie Hawkins scored early and then set up Moscoso for a 2-0 lead in the 18th minute. A Caroline Taylor goal in the 29th minute pushed the lead to three, and that was the margin at the break.
Moscoso added her second goal in the 55th minute and finished off the hat trick in the 69th. She was perfect on the day, scoring on all three of her shots, while Hawkins ended with a goal and three assists.
Spartanburg Methodist controlled the play, firing 23 shots to six for the Lady Lions and putting 16 on target to three. Bryan keeper Emory Andrews kept the score from growing with 11 saves over the full 90 minutes. Ava Wilson and Estella Tatu split time in goal for the Pioneers to share the clean sheet.
The win moves Spartanburg Methodist to 9-3-2 overall and 7-2-1 in conference play. Bryan fell to 1-11-1.
