SPARTANBURG, S.C. — A parking mistake sent a car into the front of a gym on East Main Street in Spartanburg late Friday morning, though no one was injured.
The crash happened a little before noon at Key 2 Fitness. The Spartanburg Police Department said a 71-year-old woman was easing into the lot when she pressed the gas pedal when she meant to press the brake, and her car rolled into the building.
Pictures from the scene showed damage to the car and to the gym’s front wall. Nobody inside the business or in the vehicle was hurt.
Firefighters from the Poplar Springs, Drayton and Roebuck departments helped at the scene.
Police cited the pedal mix-up as the cause and did not announce any charges. The cost of the damage to the building had not been released.
