Landrum High School’s Class of 2026 will graduate Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m., but the ceremony will not be staged in the stadium. School officials say the event will take place in the gymnasium because of the inclement-weather forecast, making guest logistics more important than usual for families heading into one of the district’s biggest nights of the year.
The district graduation page lays out a more controlled entry plan for families. Every guest, including children, must have a ticket to enter. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and the district says there will be one main entrance at the home-side ticket booth area. Guests are directed to sit on the home side, and the district warns families to leave ample time for traffic congestion, parking delays, the walk to the venue, and locating seats before the ceremony begins.
The school system is also enforcing a clear-bag policy. The district says each person may bring one clear bag no larger than 12 by 12 by 6 inches or one one-gallon resealable clear plastic bag. The prohibited-items list is extensive and includes balloons, signs, banners, noisemakers, knives, alcohol, drones, large bags, and even otherwise common celebration items such as confetti and streamers. District officials also note that concealed carry is prohibited, even with a permit. Those details can feel tedious, but on a packed graduation night they are often what determine whether entry moves smoothly or backs up outside.
Earlier Graduation 2026 guidance from the district had already told families to review tickets, parking, permitted items, and arrival instructions before coming to campus. The latest weather discussion from the National Weather Service helps explain why the district took the conservative route. The National Weather Service said a cold front should bring better rain chances Thursday and provide the focus for numerous showers and storms. For Landrum families, the practical message is simple: keep the May 21 date, but plan for an indoor ceremony, bring only approved bags, and arrive early enough to handle a tighter entrance process.
