Wofford competes in the Southern Conference with 18 varsity sports. Known for its football program and consistently competitive SoCon athletics.

NIL stands for Name, Image, and Likeness. South Carolina's NIL law (H4957, signed May 2024) applies to intercollegiate athletes only — meaning college athletes at Wofford College, USC Upstate, and Converse University can earn through endorsements, sponsorships, and brand partnerships. High school NIL is NOT permitted in South Carolina. The SCHSL prohibits student athletes from receiving compensation for their name, image, or likeness under Article III, Section 14 of the SCHSL Constitution.
